40′ High Cube (HC) Storage Containers
High cube shipping containers are generally very similar to a standard 40ft, although stand one foot taller. A standard 40 ft is 8′ 6″ in tall, while a high cube is 9′ 6″ in height. You may also notice a high cube come in a length of 45ft as well. High Cube’s are excellent for transporting an additional volume of cargo, or anything that wont fit in a standard size of 8′ 6″. (3)

Potential Uses / Customization Options
Essentially, being able to carry twice the load of a 20ft shipping container. Boxes sized at 40ft in length are typically used for the purpose of transporting consumer goods. For example; electronics, furniture, appliances, vehicles etc. Additionally, similar to their 20ft counterparts. Depending on the condition. 40ft containers can also be used for building a pre-fabricated home, office or retail space.
Delivery
When receiving delivery of your 40 ft container, you can almost expect a very similar experience with a 20 ft. However, you will need to create additional space to accommodate the larger size of the unit. 20 ft containers usually require up to 100 ft of clearance. While a 40 ft container can require up to 150 ft of clearance.
Most deliveries will be scheduled with a tilt-bed or roll-off truck. Delivery via crane is possible. However must be inquired about in advance. Being available to communicate & accept delivery is important. Although providing a safe delivery route and location, is also very important. (5)
